Kofi Annan
One of the world’s most influential political leaders, Kofi Annan served as the seventh Secretary-General of the United Nations from 1997-2002. He was the winner of the Nobel Peace Prize in 2001 and was described by the former US ambassador to the United Nations, Richard Holbrooke as "the best secretary general in the history of the UN". Mr. Annan was widely acclaimed for his work in reforming the UN, mobilizing the international community in the battle against HIV/AIDS, and undertaking significant steps against the global terrorist threat.
